In Gaza and Syria, access to clean water is a daily struggle. Refugees and vulnerable families face unimaginable choices: drink contaminated water or risk severe dehydration. The summer months worsen this crisis, and without immediate help, countless lives remain at risk. Additionally, infrastructure destruction has left entire communities without functioning water systems.
1.7 Million People Have Endured Over 12 Years of Struggling to Survive in Refugee Camps
The region — home to over 6 million people — is grappling with a severe water shortage and widespread food insecurity.
Among them, 1.7 million have been living in tents of makeshift refugee camps for over 12 years, where necessities are scarce.
Reduced aid from the World Food Programme has increased poverty and hunger, leading to a 29% increase in severe food insecurity for families living in refugee camps.
